Hackintosh tablet
Axon Logic is clearly flirting with potential lawsuits thanks to their new tablet that is ready to be locked and loaded with OS X. This tablet will tout a $500 or so price point, featuring superior hardware specifications to the iPad with a trio of USB 2.0 ports and a webcam to begin with. While this isn't legal in Apple's eyes, those who are curious as to how it performs can always find out for themselves by spending five Benjamins, although that would mean living without updates or support from Apple officially. Touted to be released in the next few months, there is no actual working prototype to be seen just yet, so keep your fingers crossed something gets caught in the wild soon.
Canopus ADVC 110
The Canopus ADVC-110 is an ideal device for capture and output of S-Video and composite analog video from FireWire equipped notebook or desktop computers. There are no software drivers to install and systems equipped with 6-pin FireWire ports are able to supply power through the FireWire cable, so ADVC-110 does not require an external power supply. Systems and devices equipped with 4-pin FireWire ports will require the optional power supply. The ADVC-110 can also operate as a stand-alone converter without requiring a computer.
Intelligent Input/Output
The ADVC-110's intelligent usability allows for easy setup and connection in any video environment. Front and rear connectors provide analog and DV signal pass-through and ensure that connecting cables is neat and simple.
